The GolfSpace Beginner Program
Start playing for real.

Welcome workshop · GolfSpace Alexandria

Welcome
Tonight is about showing, not telling. Thirty minutes in here, then we take you into the bays.
You can pick up a bat, a cue or a racquet and have fun in ten minutes. Intuition gets you a long way.
Nobody sits down and plays. You learn the instrument, note by note, from a teacher, then it becomes music.
Learn it wrong at the start and the wrong habits stay.

Your presenter tonight
Issi Bryon · GolfSpace Membership Manager · 3 handicap golfer · the golfer in every Screen to Green video.
The only difference between me and you is that I learned it the right way round.

Issi, 2018. Her first swing.

2019, Issi’s first season. 11 competitions won.

Issi, 2026. Playing off 2.
Imagine learning tennis in a car park and never on a court, then being told to play a match. That's how golf teaches beginners: a range, then a first tee.
Seven out of ten beginners leave the game.
Not "getting there". A golfer. With an official Golf Australia handicap, a club to call home, and the confidence to stand on any first tee knowing you belong there.
TrackMan bays, range and real putting green at GolfSpace
Woollahra Golf Club
Around 50 million people learn a language on it every day. Five minute lessons, a streak you don't want to break, immediate feedback, levels that unlock in order, and a path you can see.
More than 10 million downloads. It listens to you play a real piano, tells you instantly whether you hit the note, and gets you playing a real song in minutes instead of scales for months.
The method is the same in both: tiny steps, instant feedback, a visible path, a habit that compounds.
TrackMan in every bay measures every shot, so the screen is the referee, not a coach's opinion. Nothing to guess.
GolfSpace's bays, TrackMan range, real putting green and PuttLab, open every day, so the weather never cancels practice.
Our PGA team, led by Owen O'Loughlin, with Ben Crowley as your dedicated coach: private lessons, a weekly class, and you learn alongside the same women every week.
Six levels, six stages each, stars, streaks, personal bests, a passport that stamps itself. Designed with Owen and measured with the University of Technology Sydney.

Score 18 and you've earned a star and unlocked the next stage. 24 for two, 30 for three.
Play your round every week and your streak grows. Ben notices when it breaks.
Every go is logged. You beat yourself, not the woman next to you.
Six rings in your Green Passport close as you progress. Close them all and you're a golfer.

Start with a one metre putt. Finish with a driver. Every level adds the next club back from the green.
Weeks 1 to 4
Putting, chip and run, the pitch.
Weeks 5 to 8
9 iron and 8 iron.
Weeks 9 to 12
7 iron and 6 iron.
Weeks 13 to 16
5 iron, hybrids and woods.
Weeks 17 to 20
Driver, off the tee.
Weeks 21 to 26
All of it together on real Sydney courses.
Weeks 21 to 26
Six rounds with Ben. Your handicap.
You don't learn putting in Level 1 and forget it in Level 2. In every level you still have to score from the distances you've already earned. You're just unlocking the next one.
1
ten holes of putting.
2
chip into the rings from four distances.
3
18 shots at the green.
4
three shots at each target.
5
nine holes on a TrackMan course.
6
18 questions on the game.
Eighteen points is par. The number never changes for six months. The courses get longer as you earn them.
24 for two stars, 30 for three. Stages unlock in order.

At every level you play real TrackMan courses that match the skills you've just learned, with your handicap toggled on, scoring Stableford points hole by hole. That can't be taught on a driving range. It's why it's called Screen to Green.
Level 1 is short par 3s at London Gardens and Tokyo Gardens. By Level 6 it's Moore Park, Bonnie Doon and Royal Sydney, on the screen before you stand on one.
Pick the handicap you play off (54, 36 or 18) and the app shows you how to use your shots on a par 3, a par 4, a par 5 to make your two points on every hole. The lower you play off, the more stars you earn.
Golf is scored by avoiding the bad holes, not chasing the great ones. Stableford teaches you that from your first card: a bad hole is a zero, not a ten, and you pick up and move on. A par 4 on the card is what Nelly Korda needs to score. With your shots, a 6 is your par. Most golfers never learn that. You will.

Its own tab in the app, organised by where your ball is: the tee, the fairway, a bunker, a penalty area, the green.
On the course, ask a rules question out loud and hear the answer. What to do when your ball is in the water, how to take a drop, where to stand.
Eighteen questions on rules, etiquette and scoring you pass before you move up. By Level 6 you know the game.
